[AJD] Generator conversion 6 to 12 volts

I just asked a professional with lots of auto electric rebuilding 
experience that very question a couple days ago.  He said a good 6 volt 
generator can successfully be set up to charge an 8 volt battery, but 
hardly ever can one be adjusted to charge 12 volts.  John W.
