[Steam-engine] Motorized transport

Of the various shows where I have run there is ONE that allows NO forms
of modern transport on the grounds during the show with the exception of
the show's "service truck".

It takes a bit to get used to - you have to deliver everything you will
need for the day during the late evening hours and "stock pile" it by
the engine (they have excellent security!) and for anything that crops
up during the day, you flag down the service truck.

The NICE side of this arrangement is that there is NOTHING on the
grounds during the show to identify the "time period" - people get to
take pictures that could have been taken in 2000 or 1900! The grounds
are very "uncluttered" since there aren't a bunch of vehicles parked all
over the place and it really looks nice. You can actually start to get a
feeling for "the old days" in that environment.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people pushing for a change in this
policy and it may one day go from "recreating the past" to just another
"chance to play with the toys".

It is amazing what you can do with a little planning! :-)
