Durham farmer gives old tractors a new life

DURHAM -- Most farmers are in the business because they enjoy the way of life. Working with the soil has rewards those not in the industry would likely need to take some time and thought to completely understand. 

Durham farmer Dax Kimmelshue spends a fair amount of time on his tractors, and when he's not cultivating or harvesting crops, he's toiling on one of his antique tractors. 

Visitors at the Durham Harvest Festival every fall have likely seen the results of Kimmelshue's efforts. He regularly brings a few of his restored machines to show kids and grownups what farming was like back in his grandfather's day. His machines are also featured in the Durham parade.
