Just think of all the good exercise... :-) For the last several years
and until we move to the other house this summer our fridge has been
exactly100 feet from the stove and the sink, and in a level of the house that sits
about 3 feet lower than the level that the kitchen is on. Actually it was
an extra fridge that we kept down there when we were selling eggs. The
fridge in the kitchen died and I took it out so Diana started just using the
other one. I offered to move it up to the kitchen but she said don't bother.
She jogs the trip most of the time and it is even better exercise now that
our minds are mostly gone. Sometimes it takes a half dozen extra trips to get
what we forgot... :-) In the other house the fridge will be right at the
stove and sink. :-) That house is much bigger though so we will still get
some exercise. This house is a long stretched out 2,500 square feet. The other one
doesn't look that much bigger but it is just over 5,000 square feet. The
living room is a little smaller there (20' x 36") and I am going to miss the
cathedral ceiling (only another 4 feet up) and the 11' to 12' xmas trees.
The living room here is 24'x36' with 2 nooks off of it. The 24'x24' area of
cathedral ceiling makes it look bigger. It isn't fancy (but then neither am I) but
it works very well for family gatherings. The other house is 12 rooms plus a
bath and a half and an unfinished area of basement (furnace, water heater
and water system) and an unfinished area of attic (floor only). One
basement room that I am working on now to get finished the rest of the way
is 1300 square feet. I'm working on it but we don't have any idea exactly
what we will use it for yet. :-) There is a 16'x20' bedroom that shares a
non load bearing wall with the living room that I plan to open the wall up with
about a 12' opening and add that room to the living room. That way I won't
feel closed in. We plan to put the pool table in what was the bedroom.
One thing my mother and I shared is a bad case of claustrophobia.
I like lots of windows and open space... Some how elevators
don't really bother me but sometimes if we have too many people our old
24' travel trailer makes me a little squirrelly... Crawl spaces are tough.

I try to take one day at a time but sometimes several days attack
me at once. :-)
