[AT] antifreeze

I'm kind of blinking my eyes in disbelief that anti-freeze has to be added
to a remote furnace system. I'm not getting some part of the message. The
system I helped install 49 years ago is still operating in northern Indiana
and it has no anti-freeze in it. Makeup water is plumbed directly from the
well.

there can be a lot of antifreeze involved in these
systems. Though if this is your only source of heat that won't be needed

If you are going to let the fire go out in winter, just turn the electric
hot water heater back on and it will keep the from freezing. But cannot
think of a reason to let it go out in freezing weather, easier to drain it
than add antifreeze.
