[AT] stuck good on a WD 45 engine question!--Will

Actually it was an "expert (me)" farmer-quality Job...if you know
what I mean. Sure not meaning to insult my farmer friends! I didn't
measure the valve stem clearance ( lacking that kind of "expert"
equipment) but all the valve stems seemed pretty tight and much
better than some I've experienced (determined
by "expert farmer touch"). Actually I guess I could have used a
micrometer to compare the valve stem dia. with the dia. of the
tight-fitting valve seat grinder guide. Humm....my expertise failed
me there. The cylinder walls did look good. The engine was rebuilt
with new pistons and rings in the recent past by others. Thanks for
your good observations Will! We will be considering the either test
you suggest. John
