I have a Marlin 357 magnum lever action rifle I use 38 special in it all the
time. For night shooting I like a shotgun. It is always difficult to tell
what your background is. With a shotgun I do not have to worry about it
going very far. I use 00Buckshot in my 12 gauge for coyotes, bobcats,
skunks, and whatever decides to prey on my sheep or cats.
