This post may be a little choppy because I am trying to respond to several
posts at one time.
Thanks to whowever listed the JD models that also used 40" rubber. I knew
someone would educate me when I only listed 2 tractors.

Danny, you make me a little jealous but I'll survive. I have what is left
of the old tires and I think that they were 11-40s. I know that the 9-40
would look a little odd on the wide rim but would there be a problem using
them?

Farmer, I have considered this solution but it will be tricky. The cast
centers are very near 38" dia. themselves. Finding a 38" rim that will
adapt to them will be difficult. I would like to keep the big cast centers
because you don't see them often. Many Oliver 70 owners opt to use the
small cast hub from a newer model with the stamped center rims. I'm not
really concerned about the radius I just need tires that hold air.

Danny, the look of the steel is OK but I was hoping to utilize the 6 spd
transmission and that can't be done on steel. I like to participate in Plow
Days and the tractor games at the shows I attend and I thought that the
Oliver ought to be good for those activities. If I keep it on steel I may
also keep it as rusty-but-trusty instead of a fancy paint job.
