Ralph:
When I worked for the MF dealer in OKC many, many years ago(1970), we
serviced fords, IH, and MF and anything else that the boss traded for.
Fords up thru the hundred series that were not select-o-speed, and the
Masseys used 90 wt mineral oil. This included the TO series and the MF
series up thru the 65's. I had 2 85's one on diesel, and one on propane.
The power steering pump drove off the side of the bell housing ahead of the
transmission and worked the hydraulic pto clutch. However, I cannot
remember what we used in the rear end and hydraulic. I do remember using 90
wt mineral in the propane tractor so we had good steering and hydraulic.
The old diesel was a low compression continental diesel that you usually had
to pull to start. If it was cold, you pulled it a ways with a shot of
either, then kept it running.
