Bill,

Your GP is very cool! I cant rememebr if already replied to your email.
I will be out to look at the GP this afternoon and will have more
information later. I guess the days of $100 or $500 tractors are over???

Kreig, FWIW I paid $1700 for this
<http://www.karstlandventures.com/eventsPhotos/Tractors/20051008%20Lanesboro
%20GP/index.cfm> one, sn 225420, at a local auction last fall and like to
delude myself that I got it a little under value; maybe $2500 - $3000. This
looks to me to be very straight sheet metal, and original excepting the mag.
The correct mag for the GP will bring $500 in about any condition on eBay,
easily twice that if working. But the popular replacement Wico mag will
work fine until one finds and can afford the real one.

There's a wide variety of changes and options during the GP production run,
and of course the standard tread vs the narrow front end. Best if you could
find the serial # and post a pic for list members to see and tell you what
you're looking at. I'm just starting to catch on to some of the common and
obvious fine points and will watch this thread eagerly for wisdom! If you
don't have a way to post pictures, forward them to me and I'll post them and
send you the link.

I went out to look at a GP today. Been sitting outside for 20-30 years with
the present owner and who knows how long before. The owner is a "collector"
in the sense that he has hoarded many tractors but does nothing with them.
Front tires rotted off, rear steel, I think a later model because of the
exhaust/intake stacks. Seems to be VERY complete, all original with parts i
have never seen on any tractor and obviously they are factory and for the
GP. Sheeet metal covers for the PTO lever and also sheet metal in front of
the tool box. All handles and everything, seems to be complete. The owner
said the engine has been stuck ever since he got it and sitting out in the
NW rains all these years probably has not been good for any of it at all.

I would love to drag this baby home and make it "new" again. Any ideas as
to value? I did not get a chance to check serial number. The owner
stated it was worth more for parts than as a complete tractor. In my mind
he is wrong, it is one more complete GP that could be saved. He does not
normally sell tractors so any advice would be welcome.

Thanks,
