Thanks I looked it up and couldn't find anything on hoakes.com so i thought  
that it might be true.
Its a neat story even if not true. 
 
My beavers come down and plug up my over flow pipes since my creek is  
seasonal.  I always leave them plugged in the late spring to gain another 2  ft. of 
water.
