AU-
Bear in mind that MY Low Boy is a red 1957 which looks and acts more along the lines of a (regular) Cub. The 154/184/185 were of the "newer" design and were white/yellow (not that paint makes any difference). My understanding from Cub expert Mike Sloane is that the 184 is the "product of choice". The pricing for the one you mentioned does not seem to be out of line but, as you so astutely pointed out...there are variables.
I am going to forward this email to Mike and, perhaps, he will fire something back. His information is MUCH more authoritative than mine, I assure you!
  Later.
  JM

A recent advertisement offered a Cub Low Boy 185 with 60" deck with
good tires and a new battery for $2900.00. Lots of variables are
involved in pricing older equipment, but I was wondering if you felt
that was a bit high or an appropriate price?
        Regards, Art
