[AT] Economy Jim Dandy

The problem is so common with those old T-92 transmissions that there
are even illustrated step-by-step procedures on the Internet for
correcting it, Bob.

The short solution -- take the top off the transmission (four bolts)
slip the gears into neutral, and put the whole thing back together.

To repair the problem, disassemble the top of the transmission and
either replace the shifter lever or build up the disk on the bottom end
so it is round again and reassemble it.

I've rebuilt so many of these tops that I can do the whole job in about
20 minutes.

I inherited a 14-hsp Jim Dandy tractor from my late father-in-law
three years ago (I never found any owners manual for it). After
servicing it and some preventative maintenance, the machine has been
running fine the limited times I've used it. But yesterday the gear
shift locked up in 3rd gear and nothing I've tried has unlocked it.
The clutch still works OK, so I must assume the problem is in the gear
shift/transmission.

Has anyone heard of this happening with this tractor before?

Also, anyone know where I might pick up a copy of the owners manual?
Thanks in advance, guys.

Bob
