When I was a kid I recall reading of a place where the farm land was so 
productive that you could plant nails in the spring and harvest a crop of 
crowbars in the fall. :-)
The odd occasion I will unearth a rusty old wrench or other remnant of horse 
farming days in these fields. Lost by my grandfathers many years ago. The 
most memorable piece of old metal was the specification plate off the Rock 
Island Heider that was the first tractor ever on this farm. Its a piece of 
history that I really value.
