Because if you drive too close to them with one of those
dang noisy green and yaller things they might pass out and
roll under the rear wheel and those horny things might
puncture a tire causing the tractor to spin out of control
and knock the barn down which could then knock the house
down and that might kill the coon dawg under the porch and
who among us wants to be responsible for killing a coon
dawg... ;-)
