Well got the pump rebuilt and back on.. Right away did notice the hissing
sound I had earlier in the control valve area was not there. Next checked
the oil and its nice and clear with no foam.. Looks like a couple bucks of a
seal that got rolled over during the first rebuild was my problem.. Funny
thing is when I was redoing the pump this time, I guess it put it together
and back apart to check it about 5 times.. Didn't want to do that again..
But actually its not that bad of a process.. The sheet metal comes off, the
upper water pipe comes out. Undid the lower pipe at the block. Then the air
cleaner, air cleaner bracket, the air work to the elbow on the carb.. Unbolt
the radiator and slid it forward.. Off came the hoses off the pump and out
it came.. Didn't even ding the nice fins on the new radiator. Took much
longer to take off than back on.. Was trying to preserve the nice paint and
not take off to much.. If I had the parts on hand I would say I could do it
in a day doing it at my slow pace..
Now its off to my first tractor show with this one next weekend.. Gotta get
it washed up and get my greasy fingerprints off it. And figure out to load
the tractor and LETZ mill on at the same time.
