[AT] SHE RUNS! (long)

Al,

A few years ago you might  remember that I was doing some Federal Crop Ins. 
adjusting.   One of my biggest farmers had several hundred acres of flat 
planted corn blown down completely flat on the ground.  It was good corn. 
He had me look at it but said he was going to try and pick it because the 
corn was worth more than his insurance coverage.  I didn't think he could 
get it up.  Of course he has the newest and best equipment out and sure 
enough he got it all.

His situation differed from yours in that he didn't have to wait so long 
that the stalks deteriorated.  The point of this is that you might want to 
look around for someone with a new, fancy combine to get it up for you. 
Seems like the new ones are better than the older stuff.  That is just an 
observation and I don't have any direct experience.  Maybe some others on 
the list will offer an opinion.  Of course you are there looking at it and 
it's your corn so your opinion is probably the best.

Thanks.  Maybe I can make it to a night parade.  Days just don't seem to 
work for me when it comes to fun stuff.
