Plus I used the shellac sealer on the 3 sections to seal them.. I ended up
with more on my shirt than the pump sections but didn't want a leak there
either.. Just take your time, if you even feel like something is wrong, undo
and look at it.. It's a rather pain to have to pull it like I did but you
learn lessons along the way...

Dennis,

When rebuilding the PS pump, did you use JD PS fluid for lubrication ?
I am about to put my PS pump back together and was going to use just
ordinary grease but after reading your e-mail thoght that I would ask you
about what you used.

Thanks

Well got to the bottom of the cause of the foaming of the powersteering of
my 70 Gas RC.. During assembly I must of slid the shaft in on the pump to
fast or dry and caught one of the front seals on the edge and rolled it
over.. That would explain why the oil would drip at rest and air to enter
when running.. It was on the suction side of the pump.. Now to get new seals
and be back in business.. Just thought I would share.. I expect a heavy coat
of grease or lube would prevent that..
