One of the things that they do at one of the shows I attend is to make about
an 8' X 8' pit out of 2 X 4's. Then put a fair amount of saw dust in the
pit. Then throw in a mess of coins and rake good. Then let the kids find
the coins and they get to keep what ever they find. Have the kids divided
into 2 or 3 groups based on age so that the big kids do not take advantage
of the small ones.

Subject: [Steam-engine] OT: Farm games for kids

As some of you know, we are having our small annual gathering at my house
this weekend. Just a day to thresh a little, make apple butter, and eat lots
before we lay up the engines for the winter.
I'm trying to come up with some old time games for the kids to play during
the day. Any suggestions?
By the way, those of you close enough (or willing to make the drive to
central OH) are welcome to stop by. Contact me off list for directions.
 Mark
