[Steam-engine] Stainless vs. Sch 80

I will second Mike's post. A stainless to stainless threaded joint can
easily gall (cold weld) and when that happens it is about as easy to get
apart, again, as an on-purpose weld.

So many projects. So little time.

Andy
I work with stainless a lot, first it is very expensive compared to black
iron. Stainless is difficult to work with, pipe threading requires good dies

to produce acceptable threads. If the threads are not perfect the joints can

weld when you tighten them. Once welded the joints must be cut apart.
