Andy,

I am only doing some of the work myself. I have bought all of the steel
(with matching mill certificates) through the company I work for. All of
the parts are being or have been cut on our CNC burning machine. I am
almost done drilling the rivet and stay-bolt holes using two magnetic core
drills at the same time (that way a 5/8" or 3/4" hole is drilled every 30
seconds). Soon I will be using our plate roll and brake press to form the
sheets except for the backhead and the throat sheet. The backhead and the
throat sheet will be heat formed using a 2 3/4" thick piece of steel that is
cut the proper shape with rounded edges. After all of the parts are formed
they will be fit together with temporary bolts and I will take the boiler to
Ohio were a certified ASME boiler shop with an "S" stamp will weld the
firebox and longitudinal seams on the barrel and steam dome. Then it will
be stress relieved prior to stay-bolt and rivet installation.
