Thank you for the help.  As Greg said, not the easy answer I'd hoped for, but 
certainly an opportunity to learn about what's hiding behind that flat back cover.  
Looks like this will be a winter project if I can get her under cover and near the 
heater.

> The seals that you need to replace are in the rear end.  They keep the
> transmision oil from getting into the axle housings.  Drain the oil
> and remove the backplate.  The two bullgears will be staring at you.
