[AT] OT Heating with wood/now waste oil

We are thinking exactly the same way Mike. Here is what I had in mind (if I
try it at all). I'll prefilter the oil by pumping it through some fairly
efficient filters into another tank, then let it settle undisturbed for a
time. Then pump from the mid level of the tank and mix with kerosene at
maybe a 1 part waste oil to 4 or 5 parts kerosene. That way I'll leave the
sediment in the bottom of the other tank. What is left will be filtered
waste oil mixed with kerosene. Then I will pump that through the filters
into the #2 oil at maybe 1 part mixed/waste oil to 4 or 5 parts clean #2.
Then that mixture will go through my furnace filters. I have a prefilter
with a water settlement bowl and then the regular furnace fuel type filter
behind that.

That way the oil that finally runs through the furnace will be about 5%
waste oil. I know it will burn. I'm primarily worried about fine
particles pluging up the nozzle on the coldest night of the year.

It's probably not worth fooling with but it makes good mental exercise.
