I grew up in Connecticut and we ALWAYS had applesauce served with any
fresh pork dish. YUM. Must say friends here in the northwest think me a
bit strange..

Apple sauce was always served in my family's house with pork chops
growing up. Apples go well with pork.
Apple butter is also common where I come from. We used to have it on a
sandwich with peanut butter.
Darn, I'm getting hungry....
