I had the same problem with my wife's 94 F150. I had to set on the hood
at the latch while my wife pulled the release. It finally came free. I 
lubed everything liberally and adjusted the rubber stops a little lower. I 
believe the rubber stops have become too brittle for the job they are
supposed to do. Iwill get a new set with a little give to them.
