Yes. There are optional thermostat controls available in
both cases but only from the factory, not the stores
selling the stoves. The old stove has 9 heat ranges. The
new one has 5. The controls are substantially different
between them. The new one is self igniting and even has one
thermostat setting (if you buy and install a thermostat)
where it will shut clear down when the house is warm and
restart on its own when the house gets cool again.
The older stove going in the shop will likely stay either
at the lowest setting at night or turned off while I have
the wood stove heating during the day.

positive attitude. We might as well go out in overdrive and
with the pedal to the metal because this thing called life
"don't got no reverse"... There is no sense wasting
a lot of time trying to find one...
