[Ford-ferguson] Ford 910 Gasser

There is no way to mount a pump on the engine crankshaft on a Ford 900
(or700) series tractor. They were designed to be tricycle type tractors
(narrow front, with tires close together) and the front steering assembly
has no hole through to the crank. Even a belt drive off the crank is
difficult because of the generator on one side and the power steering
assembly on the other.

OK, I was wrong about the fenders. So I will try again...
My only thought is that the mower's PTO shaft would have to be
compressed back about 8" or so, which would change the geometry somewhat
and put the U joint at a greater angle during operation. You would have
to do some measuring. An alternative would be eliminating the PTO pump
and mounting a pump on the engine crankshaft, which is much a more
common approach. That would give the loader full time hydraulics and
free up the PTO for the mower (and the mower would act as a counter
balance to the weight of the loader). Finding a good used front pump,
shaft, and mounting plate would probably not be all that difficult -
they were very common on Fords of that era. The usual problem with those
pumps is worn out splines on the drive shaft, but replacement shafts are
available. They bolt up to the front pulley and run through the hole in
the grille for the starter crank, which nobody uses anymore, so there is
little lost. Just make sure that you put a brand new fan belt on, as
changing the belt after the pump is mounted is a very big pain in the butt.
