[AJD] Another trivia question - Pre-Screeners??

Dean,
You're welcome.  I think the non-round-hole material is just expanded 
metal - pretty common stuff.  Go to www.mcmaster-carr.com and type in 
expanded metal in the search box, then go to wire mesh and you'll see lots 
of pix and hole sizes.  So, I would think that would be more common than 
metal with round holes punched in it - that would have to be made for the 
purpose.  So, I would agree the (design engineered) round holes would come 
first, then some supplier gave a cheaper price with expanded metal and won 
the bid.
The parts catalog pix may be correct.  How long did they retain the 
prescreen?  Is it still available - maybe with expanded metal.
