[AJD] $300 Ebay JD gas cap

I am quite sure that I have had this happen to me on more than one occasion. That is why I do not accept second chance offers unless I absolutely have to have it and/or the price is still too good to pass up.

To second what Spencer has said, I think I discovered a sly shill technique
on eBay. Suppose an item starts with $1.00 minimum bid. You are first bidder
and bid $9.95 as your maximum bid and Ebay posts your intial bid of $1.00.
Couple of other bidders bring it up to $5.95 and you are still high bidder.
Seller wonders how much you really did bid. So his shill bids until shill is
the highest bidder. Auction ends. Now seller knows your maximum bid and
sends you "second chance" offer of the item at $9.95. Since you had already
committed to that amount, you probably will buy it at $9.95. I think this
was pulled on me once.
