[AT] Chevy transmission question

I would have to vote for the 700R4.  I have 4 of them.  One is in a 85 
Suburban that has been all over the US pulling a trailer.  I changed out the 
rear end to a 3.73 ratio and only had to use direct when really pulling a 
hill.  I hauled a lot of equipment with it and also it pulled my airstream 
trailer.  I rebuilt it myself though.  Also had one in an 83 pickup and 
rebuilt it myself.  I really like them,  They have a low gear that is lower 
than the 1st gear in a 4 spd.  It is the lowest 1st gear of any automatic. 
If you can find a wrecked car then you would get all the extra pieces you 
might need.

I know I probably will get a lot of flak over this statement, but I have not 
received any better mileage or performance from my electronic computer 
controlled vehicles than I have from my old carbureted old style engines...
