  Would the injection point on a vertical boiler be different from a  return 
flue tubular or locomotive style boiler? The reason I ask is that I don't  
remember seeing many or any mid point ports on verticals. I have seen a surface  
blow at the same level as the middle try cock I have heard it was for blowing  
off floating debris in the boiler? I think the only middle injection point I  
have seen was on a Lookout?
 
  If Rick gets all the stuff he needs to make steam what do you  recommend 
for him to do to de scale them tubes or do you?  I like to boil  out once a year 
with a heavy caustic soda and soda ash mix. The blow down and re  inject 
several times.
 
  The inspector will give Rick the specks on what safety to  order?
