James,
You might also post to the main ATIS list as I'm sure that others  
will chime in.
It's just something that I recall previous posts about, that for  
many, especially at shows like to see something that is in very good  
original condition, that it is more authentic and less 'showy' and  
even may have more value as an original than as one modified.
Hang in there to get more input and go to the main ATIS site (sorry,  
don't have URL handy) and see what others think.
