[Steam-engine] Re: [Steam-engine Fusible plug in lower flue sheet?

I looked at Rick's web shots and noticed that there was a fusible plug in  
the flue sheet in the top of the fire box? Any comments? I have seen it in a  
flue a few inches below the bottom of the sight glass but never in the bottom  
flue sheet. My thought would be that by the time the water reached this level  
the flues they would all be leaking at the top.. unless they were seal  welded?
