[Steam-engine] Hard water & soft plug

I wonder if you were to drain the water out but not let the scale dry out 
and then that night let if freeze good, keep a fan blowing cold air thru 
the flues, if that would loosen up the scale at all.  Maybe loosen up the 
joints a bit to.:(
