Chris:

The extra parts needed to make it work on an A will cost you more than the
head.

The guy selling it has some non-JD interchange catalog that claims it will
work. I just want to be sure before I give him the $$. Decent price for a
rebuilt head.

Are you confusing the 60 cylinder block and the late A cylinder block vs the
head compatibility? I'm pretty sure the blocks are compatible but when it
comes to the head there are big differences such as the 60 used a duplex
carburetor and completely different manifold, has ports for each intake side
in the head, etc vs the late A single barrel system.

Now the early 60's used single barrel carburetors on the "All Fuel" tractors
for a short period and that head is A4226R and the one you need for your AR.
Finding an "All Fuel" 60 that has been parted out is going to be tough
however.

Now if you want to put a duplex carburetor and all new manifolds and intake
pipes on the A it probably would work with a little jury rigging. The
cylinder block stud pattern must be the same.

I have a seller with an A4625R Head, my parts book
lists an A4226R as the head that I need for a late
styled AR. Anyone know for sure if this will work.
The A4625R is supposd to fit the late A and early 60 I
am told, but can't find it in my A book. I know a
lot of A and 60 stuff will interchange. Help greatly
appriceated.

Chris
