[AT] O/T anti virus software question

Not to pile on here but I've used AVG myself for several years and I've been
pleased with it. It doesn't have as much of a requirement for resources as
Norton does and it is much easier to uninstall. In the past, I've had problems
with Norton causing problems because it requires so much in the way of
resources. AVG has a free version for home use and a paid version for business
use - I think you can also get discounts on the business version for multiple
computers. Also I've used (and currently use) AVAST! because it also does
scanning for websites, p2p files (I occasionally download Linux distributions
using a P2P application - I don't do the mp3 downloading, I'm kind of funny
about paying people for their work - even had a "legal" C-band satellite years
ago). AVAST! does require more in the way of resources than does AVG but I like
it on my XP system (www.avast.com for those who are interested).
Again, ymmv but I've had good success with both of these. I kind of gave up on
Norton and McAfee years ago.

Why not download the free version, and run it on the other 3 computers? I think you'll find it much less intrusive than Norton, and it doesn't gobble up as much memory. Virus updates are free, and it prompts you when your definitions are out of date.
