That's what plow bottom paint is for, John Deere calls it Soft Black paint.
It is a waxy paint that is made to protect freshly scoured bottoms from rust and
to wear away quickly. I found this out when, as a youth, I painted some JD two cylinder 
parts black with it. Imagine my surprise at the finish and the fact that it scraped 
away!
Most farm stores carry similar products
