[AT] Spontaneous Tractor Show

I can't believe it. I forgot how it works. At the Danish festival here in
town last November, since it was a nice day, I drove my Allis G up for a
book signing and parked it on main street. It's a big shopping day for the
ladies and usually guys just stand around bored and jingling their car keys
but now they had something for a group gawk and talk. So I told the
organizers that maybe for the big Danish Independence Day (one of the 177
times they threw out the Germans, I think) I would take up the G and maybe
Linda's JD B. And I mentioned it to some other restorers around here, and
so a few of them said they'd bring in a machine. Or two. And then I got
notes from 25 miles away...maybe they'd bring one. And then 125. And now
WISCONSIN!

Jeez, we are just going to drive in the parade down the entire 100 yards of
main street and then park and loaf, but that seems to be enough to draw
tractor nuts like flies to honey. So, you won't find it on any published
schedules, and it's really not going to be much more than sitting on the
curb bragging (Dannebrog IS the home of the National Liars Hall of Fame and
the tractors will be sitting right across the street from the NLHF
Convention Center and Museum Complex) but I thought I best let any of you
who might be in the area know.

That's Dannebrog NE (about 22 miles north of Grand Island, just off Hwys 281
and 58...you may not find the town on a lot of maps), June 4. The parade is
at 10, Danish food all day long (I think they are skipping the eel this
year), lying pretty much full time....
