Clint: I might suggest you find an AC combine with the same engine and I
think that would be an L or L2 , don't remember for sure. I would warn
you about the engine itself; it is prone to leaking around the sleeves
and I don't know where to find new sleeves. Down on the farm we went
through something similar and ended up using an IHC combine engine and
making an adapter plate plus having the flywheel drilled (from the AC
engine) to use the AC clutch etc. Not as complicated as it sounds if you
have a good machine shop. I think the adapter plate must include
provisions for the starter because the IHC starter did not match so we
had to make provision to use the AC starter.
Make sure I am thinking of the right tractor -- that is the row crop
tractor that used the 3500-3700 series engine? Painted burnt orange and
before the later black painted engine?
