[AT] Marvel-Schebler carb question

Good Deal! Glad it worked out. Now go give those pesky little Allis
tractors a run for their money at the next pull! Never seen an Allis that
wasn't competitive in the same class as a VAC ;-)

Thanks for the info guys.

A little bit of heat works wonders. Was able to remove the power nozzle
with
no difficulty and more importantly, no damage. Got the main jet out and
opened
the orifice a bit using a torch tip cleaner. Re-assembled and
re-installed the
carb, tractor started right up, and is now responding nicely to load
screw adjustment.

Greg:

Are you working on a DLTX series (Waterloo built JD 2-cyl.), or is it a
TSX series (lots of makes & models). I believe the method that Dean is
describing is specific to the JD only carbs. Heat will help with any of
them though, as it softens the old varnish that glues everything
together. One way of knowing when it's hot enough is to heat until the
flame just begins to turn green from the copper in the nozzle's brass
alloy. Then use a puller as Dean describes, or a screwdriver or deep
well socket for other carb. types.

Greg:

The trick is to tap the hole with I believe #10 threads and then make a
puller out of a #10 bolt and a small bar with a #10 hole in it to pull
the nozzle out.
