[AT] D17 Power Director Drops out of High Range

I have two D17's in my family that have the same problem. One is an early
D17, Serial in the 3000's. The other D17 is a Series IV. 

The power director lever will drop out of high, especially in high gear. 

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
