If it's the "sack knot" I remember, it isn't too hard.

First, make a lot of ties, wrap roto-baler twine around your arm, elbow to
hand, making about 2-3' loops.  Tie at one side, then cut at the other.

Gather the engire top of the sack in your left hand, pinky down.  Leave
about 4" of end free, start under the pinky ang go around it once, then
around the sack, under your hand twice.  Then form a loop with the free end
thru the hole where your pinky was.  Pull the first end tight.  It leaves a
looped know that can be easily pulled loose, but will hold very well.

I don't think plastic twine works as well.
