My .02 on the topic.

I do not have a ZTR, yet, but hope to get one.  I have seen ZTR's that 
are helpless as a turtle on its back, when on muddy or slippery ground, 
I'm told the secret to avoid that is putting on lug tires.  By the same 
token, when conditions are right, a ZTR saved a friend of mine over 3 
hours, as I undersood it, as opposed to mowing with his Yellow Cub. 

I have seen ZTR's equipped with trailers, snow plows, snow blowers, ect, 
so they are not really just mowing machines.

As for brand of machine, I like the Dixie Choppers and the Grasshoppers, 
although I remember seeing one last year at a fair that was equipped 
with a 3 cyl diesel, a big deck, a string trimmer on either side 
and....the best features, twin beer holders and an air ride, Bostrom seat.
