Amsden,

I purchased one of the 650's new when they first came out on the market and traded a 316 in on that tractor. The tractor was a pleasure to operate and there was no comparison between the 316 and the 650. The 650 was a real tractor!!! . We had a 48" Woods mower and a 48" or 50" JD mounted 4 way front blade and a JD 48" rototiller. I did not have any additional weights on the tractor nor were the tires filled.

Living in Syracuse, NY at the time provided a lot of snow to test that tractor and I can say that we never had a snow fall that that little tractor could not handle, several in the 36" plus range. Had a 3/4 acre garden and that tiller would make a seed bed that was smooth as silk and that little tractor never stopped. It was relatively easy on fuel as my son cut several lawns in the area all 2 to 3 acres and refueling was done only every two weeks.

Never had one mechanical problem with the tractor. It was a real pleasure to own and I would say that I wished that I had it back. I traded it in on a JD 750 in about 1984 and can say that the 750 was just as good a tractor with just a little more weight and power. Reason for the trade was a move to Western NJ where we had a 700 foot long up hill unpaved drive. Several times, while plowing snow, the snow packed tight in front of the blade and the tractor pushed sideways. I could have added some weights but as a guy that likes tractors, I persuaded the Misses that I needed a larger more powerful tractor. Had that tractor until 2000 when I traded up to a 4400.

Wished I had either the 650 or 750 back..They were the Best !!

Anybody on this list familiar with the 650 garden tractor?
Have located one with a small loader on it. 1986 model with low hours
and clean. Any ideas how much it's worth?
Any help would be appreciated.

Amsden, south by east Montana
