[AJD] darn electrical systems

I have found the alternator itself to cause this problem.  Easy to check.
 Unplug the alternator when you shut of the engine.  Then disconnect toe
positive bat cannection and touch the terminal to the bat post and see if
you get a spark.  If not, reconnect the terminal and leave the alt
disconnected overnite and see if you still have a hot bat next day.  A
shorted dioed  will cause it but the alt will still put out 1/3 charge. 
Enough to work in most situations.
