[AT] anybody close to this?

Charlie, Is there a "better" way to get to TN from NC than I-40?  I am
hoping to take a trip towards Nashville this summer for the IH
Collector's Red Power Roundup and I may be pulling a trailer.

I didn't know about Arkansas (that is one of a the few eastern US states
I 
haven't been in).  I do know that the truckers don't much like going the
the 
NC/TN mountain passes on I-40 but I figured that wasn't the only reason.
