One of the things Dean mentioned was to check the point gap. I'd also suggest that you clean the points; either with a points file or by slipping a clean paper towel between the points and pulling it thru while the points are off a lobe (closed). The points are in the low-voltage circuit and a little oxidized grease can coat them and give you intermittant spark....maybe :>)

store a charge over a period of time. I don't think I have ever experienced
the exact same symptoms that Chris is observing. It will be a good learning
