[AT] Checked rows - Corn planting?

Mattias,, and George,, this "implement" was strictly home made out of a 
poplar tree and some scrap lumber if I recall right. Crude but effective and 
I don't know if it might have been copied from an actual garden tool. They 
had to economize in those days.
 I still have the home made mallet that they constructed from a chunk of elm 
tree trunk. I still use it occasionally although its a bit like farmer's 
grandfathers hammer. I did have to replace the handle once. :-)
