And probably an order of magnatitude different for the shuttle. It takes
more fuel to lift more fuel to altitude and the load you're lifting (fuel)
is decreasing along the way.
Did anyone ever play the lunal lander simulator. If you held the throttle
steady, you would decent, hover, then blast back into space just on the
weight change.
