Mike,

I've been told that you can paint over it.  Might be worth exploring.  Got to agree about the high $$$.

  Like Mitch, I've heard lots of positive reports on POR 15.  I just haven't been able to 
  bring myself to pay $105 a gallon for paint that doesn't come in green or yellow.  :)
